A Cutting Edge Special.

One Night Stand is a revealing and intimate documentary following three single people in search of sexual adventure.

'I don't like gentle sex. It doesn't do anything for me.
It's two people exchanging hearts more than it's two people having sex.
So no, I don't like gentle sex.'
- Bonnie.

Bonnie is a 24-year old single mother, who's perfectly content looking after her baby on her own: in fact, she believes she gets all the love she needs from her daughter, and the only thing she needs from a man is sex.

‘If a rumour gets round that you’re a shit shag, that’s it, you’re finished.
You might as well get married.’
- Mark.

Mark is a 28-year old straight man who shares a house with his best friend Adam. The pair of them are professional bachelors, who believe that women only want to tie them down. Their hunting ground is the Liverpool nightclub scene, where every weekend they're out on the prowl.

'I never come home and think - oh gosh, why did I have sex with this person?
In fact, I feel very happy because someone chose me. It's nice.'
- Jean Yves.

Jean Yves is a 34-year old gay man, originally from a small island in the Indian Ocean, now living in London. He's keen on sex, but determined to avoid the emotional involvement a permanent relationship would bring.

The film follows each of our characters on a single night out - from early evening excitement and anticipation as they get ready, to their whirlwind tour through a series of nightspots, to the moment when they spot a likely candidate - and move in for the kill.

Along the way, we discover the pleasures, terrors and pitfalls of a one night stand: what do you look for in a possible bedmate? How do you get rid of them the morning after? And how do you stop getting involved?

We return the next day to find out how it was for them and their new-found partners - and discover three startlingly different outcomes.
